Get to Know Dr. Ashlee Cosantino
With well over a decade of experience in the world of dentistry, Dr. Ashlee Cosantino loves every minute of what she does when it comes to treating smiles. One of the best things to her is being able to turn patients who are typically nervous or scared to visit the dentist into those who are excited about their next appointments. Originating from Springfield, Dr. Cosantino brings positive energy and joy to the office and looks forward to meeting young patients so that she can help them get the comfortable and personalized care they deserve.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
It was during Dr. Cosantino’s time in college when one of her sorority sisters convinced her to change her major from premed to predental. She found that there was a perfect combination of science and art—two of her favorite subjects—involved in the dental field, so she made the change and never looked back! Over time, she also fell in love with being able to help children through pediatric care, making her profession a perfect fit for her.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Cosantino first attended the University of Illinois to obtain her bachelor's degree. She later went on to study at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry to earn her dental doctorate. Over the years, she’s moved her way to becoming a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and was also awarded the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award for scoring in the top 3% nationwide on her written board exam. She has served multiple years on the board of the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists and was even the President in 2020.
Dr. Cosantino is passionate about continuing education courses, refining her skills and expertise, and remaining up to date with the latest advances through her membership in various professional organizations, including:

- American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Whenever she isn’t at the office and treating growing smiles, Dr. Cosantino spends her time with her amazing husband and their two boys. Other than hanging out with her family and loved ones, she also enjoys hobbies like golf, fitness classes, baking/cooking, traveling, painting, and throwing parties. One interesting fact about her: she is the residency program director at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago!
